COVID-19 Guidance for Older Adults
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has advised that older adults and those with underlying health issues such as asthma, heart disease, and diabetes may be at a higher risk of complications from COVID-19.
If you are at higher risk for serious illness from COVID-19 because of your age or because you have a serious long-term health problem, it is extra important for you to take action to reduce your risk of getting sick with the disease.
Take everyday precautions such as avoiding close contact with those that may be sick.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Clean and disinfect your personal space frequently. Clean frequently touched items such as doorknobs, sinks, toilets and light switches.
Avoid all nonessential travel including plane trips and especially cruise ships.
