On September 13, we celebrate National Grandparents Day. Inlet Coastal would like to wish all grandparents a very happy National Grandparents Day!

The purpose of the holiday to honor grandparents, acknowledging and celebrating the important contributions they have within their family. It provides families an opportunity to show their gratitude and respect for the older generation and to honor grandparents.

This year, with a pandemic, it may be hard to celebrate in person, so we challenge you to think creatively and do some grand for your grandparents. Below are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Create a family photo album and share it with your grandparents
  • Have young children in the family create cards and mail to grandparents
  • Interview a grandparent and ask questions like “What was school like for you?”, “What was your favorite place to visit?”, etc.
  • Put together a care package of all of your grandparents’ favorite things

Remember, the most important thing is that it comes from the heart!
